Better Off with the Helper

Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.  (John 16:7 NKJV)

I’m thinking that the disciples were shocked at this statement.  On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus informs them that they will be better off with Him gone.  He attributes this to the coming of the Holy Spirit, the Helper or Comforter or Advocate, depending on which translation you read.  Is it possible that the Holy Spirit in us and on us is an improvement over having Jesus physically present? Jesus said “YES!”
