After 40 years of praying for sick people, I have concluded that the main reason our Word of Faith folks don’t receive the healing that belongs to them lies in the way they see God and themselves. Most Christians still draw their sense of self from their family of origin, their own self- perception of their accomplishments, and the input from other people. It’s worth the struggle to overcome them because an identity based on anything other than the work of Christ leaves room for pride in our successes, shame in our failures, and innate condemnation in our approach to a holy God. All of these undermine us when we seek anything from the Lord, especially healing. This week’s video digs a little deeper into your identity in Christ.
