Building People of Substance for Works of Power

Let’s PRAY, Amigos!!!!!

Every day I awaken with the sense that I am in an episode of the Twilight Zone. It seems the world has gone mad. We have men in the lady’s room, and it is the men who are the protected species. We have presidential candidates who are either socialists or TV hucksters. The Chinese are building islands and putting military bases on them. The Russians are buzzing our warships like a bully kicking sand at the beach. We have Korean nukes to the left of us and Iranian nukes to the right of us. The courts have determined that the rights of sinners to sin overrides the right of the Church to be holy. It is considered racist to think that we should enforce our immigration laws, while demon-possessed madmen are heading for our homeland with the intent to blow themselves up in our midst. Meanwhile, our president thinks that cow flatulence is our biggest problem, and our presidential contenders are squealing on about nothing, calling each other names, and denying they said things that are public knowledge on video. I could go on. Help us, Jesus!

Thank God, it is time for the National Day of Prayer on May 5. Indeed, it is time for a national consecration to prayer. In praying for an election, I try to avoid praying for a specific person to win. I would rather let God determine who He thinks is best. He is the One who raises one up and brings another down. As we press toward what promises to be a disruptive and dangerous election, I want to encourage you that God is still God. He will take care of His people, and He will hear our prayers. He can use donkeys and rocks, and It appears that is all He has to work with in this election. I am attaching a transcript of a prayer prayed in by Kenneth E. Hagin back in 1983. I encourage you to read it, then apply similar principles in your prayer time. Find a National Day of Prayer event near you and go pray, then don’t stop!

Somebody Said: There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right. Ronald Reagan

Scripture Reading: Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

(Philippians 4:6-7 MSG)

It saddens me to see our nation decline, but it does not change our mandate. I believe times of great opportunity lie ahead of us, and not too far ahead, either. Times of great upheaval are times for the Church to be the Church. If there was ever a time to keep it real through the Word and the Spirit, this is it. As Daddy used to say, “Roll up your sleeves, we got work to do.” Our first job is prayer. Let’s do this!!!!
