The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God.
Psalms 92:12-13 NKJV

I know this is not a sign like on a billboard, but it was a sign to me the moment I saw it. Last summer we had a big storm: Rain, lightning, and some serious wind. Trees were uprooted and knocked over throughout our part of town. Branches were strewn in the streets. The morning after, on my daily bike ride, I saw dozens of mesquites and paloverdes ripped apart. The tree cutters and trash haulers were having a business boom.
As I came to the top of a hill, I saw this scene. Standing tall and straight amidst the destruction were three stately palms. Trees on both sides were bent up or beat down, but these guys were still standing. I immediately thought of Psalm 92:12a, “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree.” I took it as a sign for me. The storms don’t matter. The catastrophes on both sides don’t matter. If I stay rooted in Him and planted in His house, I may shake, rattle, and roll, but when the storm is over, I will still be standing. If you’re one who has been made righteous by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, then that promise is yours, too. In the middle of your storm, here’s your sign.
