October Update from Pastor Virgil

“Moving Christians from the pew to the harvest.” Matthew 9:36-38

October 31, 2019

Greetings Friend,

I trust your Fall is going well. Judy and I are grateful for you. We are making an impact.

I spent my All Hallows Eve sitting in a hotel room in Schenectady, New York. Friday begins three days of service to Believers Church @Glenville and their pastoral staff, led by our dear friend Pastor Dianne Elston. I have been in New York for a week and have already ministered in 4 churches. The meetings have been quite good. I believe God has given me a specific message for each church, and people have been encouraged. There have also been several instant healings, and others that we expect to see the completion of over the next days. I want to thank the churches and pastors who have allowed me to minister to their flocks this month:

Thanks to

· Living Faith Christian Center in Tucson. Pastor Randy Winkles.

· Higher Ground Christian Church in Afton, NY. Pastor Paul Hauptmann

· Community Gospel Church in Oneonta, NY. Pastor Don Yarborough and Pastors Dennis and Amy Kropp.

· Believers Family Church in Johnstown, NY. Pastors Phil and Connie Carey and their pastoral team.

· Valley Alliance Church in Nelliston, NY. Pastor David Prahst.

Great classes in Hermosillo.

On October 17 & 18 our team in Hermosillo taught the IEMFe classes “Water Baptism” and “The Lord’s Table.” These classes are part of the course entitled “Money, Ordinances, and Music.” (We wind up November 14 & 15 teaching on worship) These were very powerful evenings. Thursday, I taught on water baptism and the power in our identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Friday night, Brenda Mangen and Joyce Hughes teamed up to teach on the Communion Table, remembering the covenant and the completed work of Jesus Christ.

At the end of the class, we served communion to our students. The presence of God was tangible. People were weeping as they took the bread and the cup, exercising their faith to access the benefits of the covenant. Students came up to me with tears in their eye to thank me for bringing this teaching to them. One lady said “I have been saved for a year and a half. I have asked God to forgive my sin every day. Tonight, I learned that He did it the first time I asked!” She was greatly relieved. Another man said, “Pastor, the covenant is… we didn’t know… the covenant has benefits!” The idea that they should remember Jesus and His work and not their own failures brought liberation and joy.

Also this month, we marked the third month of classes in Nogales, Sonora being taught by Eduardo and Rosa Andrade. They are finishing up the Foundations of Faith course. They are hosted by Iglesia Emanuel.

Thank you for making these things possible with your prayers and support.

Building up pastors.

The atmosphere in our Pastors Breakfast has really deepened as these ministers are building relationship with one another, meeting together and planning for the future of this work. In our monthly gatherings I am teaching leadership principles, and it seems to be helpful to them. I love looking down the table and seeing everyone with their notebooks and bibles, intently taking notes. This month, they shared their mission statements as they work to enhance their ability to cast vision. God is truly moving in this region. We had two new pastors this month, an I expect to see more in the future. To keep abreast of what’s happening, check us out at www.pastorvirgil.com.

Please stop by www.pastorvirgil.com to keep up to speed on what I am writing at the moment. I’m churning out a study guide for men. It’s usable in small groups or by individuals. As I finish each chapter, I post it to the blogsite. It’s free and easy to access. Also, you can search on Facebook for @contendforthesupernatural. If you want to be a big help, hit SHARE while you’re there.

Holidays?

Please pray for me over the holidays. I get home the second week in December and plan to hole up and write. I feel an urgency to get some writing done. I want to finish the study guide for men, and I want to get at least a good rough draft of the book on the power of the tithe.
