But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
Jude 1:20-21 ESV
Therefore, one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful. What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.
1 Corinthians 14:13-15 ESV
I am grateful for many things, but today I am particularly grateful that God filled me with His Spirit. The capacity to pray in other tongues is one of the most beautiful, useful, and powerful gifts He has given. On this beautiful Sunday, take time to pray in the Spirit. If you’ve not had that powerful experience, take a minute to visit this post or this video.
For those who do pray in tongues, remember:
- You can pray when you don’t know what to pray for. Your wit’s end is just the beginning of His wisdom. Romans 8:26-27
- You can build yourself up on purpose. 1 Corinthians 14:4
- You can give thanks in songs of the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18-21
Have a wonderful Sunday!
