Sunday Supernaturally: This is Holy Ground

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

Matthew 18:20 ESV

I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these things to you so that, if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth.

1 Timothy 3:14-15 ESV

I’ve been thinking a lot about the wonder of the local church, it’s nature and purpose. This morning, I stumbled across this quote. I don’t think I can say it any better, so here you go:

“We need to view every congregation of true believers as holy ground. External appearances, buildings, and the size of the congregation are of no concern to God. What matters is that, where two or three are gathered, Jesus is in their midst (Matt. 18:20). The space is sacred. Every congregation, no matter how small or unknown, is on the front lines of a spiritual war. Every church has the same task. The powers of darkness will not prevail.” (Heiser, Michael S.. Supernatural: What the Bible Teaches about the Unseen World And Why It Matters (pp. 55-56). Lexham Press. Kindle Edition.)

Have a great Sunday.
