This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear. (Acts 2:32-33 NKJV)
In his Pentecost message, Peter spent a good deal of time visiting Old Testament texts about the coming of Messiah. Thank God for the written word and those who preach it faithfully! But when it came time to convince his Jewish audience that Jesus of Nazareth was, in fact, the One of whom the Prophets spoke, he appealed to experience. Thank God for experience! He told theem, “We saw Him,” and “You can see and hear what He has sent us.” We serve a God of sound doctrine and dynamic experience. Take time to find out what you believe, then press in to experience it.
