But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.
(Matthew 6:6 + James 4:3 NLT)

Wouldn’t it be great if every one of our church services today impacted eternity in the way you know God wants it to? I took a little liberty by putting two verses together to give us a plan to do just that. Before you leave for church this morning, take time to get alone with the Father and ask His blessing on the service. Don’t ask Him to bless you. Ask Him to save, heal and deliver everyone else. Agree with me on 2 simple requests:
- God, anoint the pastor to preach Your Word without fear or favor. Put Your words in his mouth and give him boldness to speak clearly and accurately what You want us to hear. Let our pastor speak as the oracles of God. (Ephesians 6:19; 1 Peter 4:11)
- Father, You see the heart of every person in the building. Transform their lives by Your Spirit and Your Word. Save the lost, heal the sick, inspire the despairing. No one leaves the way they came. (Mark 4:20; Colossians 1:9-12)
Jesus said the Father would hear and answer. Let’s do this!
