A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.
Psalm 84:10 NLT

Occasionally I’m in a situation that reminds me of “the good old days.” Those days were not so good. The places I went smelled like cigarette smoke and beer. The songs were raunchy and the company more so. Yesterday I walked out of my hotel through the outdoor seating area. It would have been lovely except for the odor of smoke that came from all the addicts congregated to satisfy their craving. God help them, they stink.
Today, I will be in the house of God. Not everyone there will be perfect, but the majority will have a level of commitment to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. They will have been washed in the blood of the Lamb. The music will extol His goodness. The praises of God’s people will be a sweet-smelling aroma to the Father. I am ever grateful for not being where I was, and for being allowed to congregate with the saints to serve in the house of the God who saved me. How about you?
