It was the Lord’s Day, and I was worshiping in the Spirit. Suddenly, I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet blast. It said, “Write in a book everything you see, and send it to the seven churches in the cities of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”
Revelation 1:10-11 NLT

It’s the Lord’s Day, the first day of the week. I pray that tomorrow, Monday, you will be able to say something similar to what John reported. One of the great blessings of being filled with the Spirit is the capacity to worship in the Spirit. Paul reports that when we worship in other tongues we give thanks in a way that pleases God (1 Corinthians 14: 16-18). There is great blessing in gathering with the other saints and blessing the Lord with the Spirit. The Presence becomes tangible.
One of the benefits that often comes when we worship in the Spirit is that we hear His voice. Sometimes in the preaching, sometimes in prophecy, or sometimes even a clear, personal Word from the Spirit. As a child of God, part of your inheritance is hearing His voice. Go to church today expecting to hear. Worship Him with you whole heart, then listen with an open heart. It’s the Lord’s Day!
