The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Psalms 92:12 NKJV
Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending a luncheon for ministers. Some I knew, others were new acquaintances. I was struck by the growth and change in those I knew. It was encouraging to see the younger folks moving forward, looking for places of service. I could hear the transformations in the way they see life and ministry, and their passion to reach further. It reminded me that we can never stop growing and that growth in one demands change in those around him. It’s a good thing.
As we go to church today, let’s look for growth. I want to grow, don’t you? I also want to be alert, to recognize what God is doing in those around me. I want to be prepared to adjust to allow them to move into what God has created them to do. Change isn’t a threat, it’s a preparation for greater blessing. In life, in church, and in ministry, growth and change are inevitable. Don’t be surprised by it, be grateful for it.
Thank you Pastor Virgil for your notes.
