Sunday Supernaturally: Love, Preach, and Holler

It (love is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

 1 Corinthians 13:5 AMP

It’s Sunday, I think.  The days kind of run together of late.  But I’m pretty sure it’s Palm Sunday, the celebration of the triumphal entry of the King into Jerusalem.  This would typically be a day for lots of shouting and great joy as the count down to Resurrection Day begins in earnest.

Today, many of us will not be with our church family in person.  Instead of joyous preparation, a lot of folks have been more given to irritation and consternation, even defamation.  Some churches meet in person in spite of the government’s concerns, others have made some adjustments. Who’s right? Who cares! I know three things for sure:

  1. God wants us to love one another even if we disagree.  I have some opinions about what we should be doing in this hour, but they are just that: opinions.  I do know for sure that I am commended to love. John 13:34-35
  2. God wants us to fulfill our commission: Preach the Gospel to every creature.  How that gets done may differ from place to place and person to person.  I just rejoice that Christ is preached. Mark 16:15-18
  3. It’s a good day to wave your hands in the air and holler. “Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest!!!!!” 1 Peter 2:9

Support your local church.  God put you there. Wherever you are, keep first things first. The King is coming!!!!
