Your words matter. In the so-called “Word of Faith” movement, we put a lot of emphasis on the power of words. I prefer to call it the power of the tongue, because I see that in the Bible a lot. The Bible clearly teaches the importance of what we say. It doesn’t teach that what we say forces God to move. Just the opposite. When I believe that God has answered my prayer, I say so! I don’t move Him; I acknowledge that He has moved. It’s just that simple.
Faith is in our heart. What is in our heart comes out of our mouth. The real goal here is to fill theheart to overflowing with faith and love and the Word of God. Then the tongue will always speak accordingly. To view the teaching on why your words matter, click here.
