Sunday Supernaturally: Time to Pray!

And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

Colossians 1:9-12 ESV

I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

Ephesians 1:16-21 ESV

Greetings from Epaphras, another member of your group and a servant of Christ Jesus. He always prays fervently for you, asking God to make you stand firm, as mature and fully convinced Christians, in complete obedience to God’s will.

Colossians 4:12 GNB

It’s the Sunday before election day.  If you haven’t done so already, be sure to vote.  But for the sake of our future, inform yourself.  You can do that here.

Today, I want to pray for the church.  Both your local church and the Church universal.  I pray that every one of us be filled with the knowledge of His will.  That by His Spirit He will give us each spiritual insight and wisdom to see things with the inner eye, to grasp the purposes of God in our circumstances.  I pray fervently, passionately, that each believer will grow to maturity, walking in the light of the full knowledge of His will.   I pray that each life will be fruitful in every good work that God has designed for them.  Lord, increase us in the knowledge of You, strengthen us with all power that we might joyfully fulfil the inheritance that comes from being Yours.

In the Name of Jesus, I rebuke the strife and division that come to divide and destroy local churches and the Church at large.  I thank You for the wisdom that comes from You, which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.  Let the world know that we are Yours because of the way we love one another.  James 3:16-17; John 13:34-35)

Lord, fill your Church, every single saint,  with the hope that comes from knowing the future to which you have called us, the value that You placed upon us by the offering of Jesus Christ, and the power that You have extended to us through His resurrection from the dead.  Give us opportunity, grace, and boldness to show Him alive in our homes, in our churches and in our communities.

Amen!
