If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
Rom 10:9-11 NIV
Go ahead, say it out loud: “Jesus is Lord. God raised Him from the dead.!” The resurrection is a very big deal. It’s the cornerstone of our faith. If you’re celebrating today because you believe that Jesus is alive from the dead, then we are family. Check out a few other verses on the subject:
- But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. (1Corinthians 15:13-14 NKJV)
- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (1Peter 1:3 NKJV)
- and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. (Romans 1:4 NKJV)
- but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification. (Romans 4:24-25 NKJV)
- Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:4 NKJV)
- buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. (Col 2:12 NKJV)
- But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (Eph 2:4-6 NKJV)
If you don’t do anything else today, take a few minutes to gather with the saints and rejoice that Jesus is alive, that He is the Son of God, that you were raised and made alive with Him, that you have been justified, that you are walking in new life, and that you are seated with Him in the heavenlies. It’s a big deal.
