Curmudgeon Alert: WHO DECIDES?

According to the dictionary, socialism is “any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods “ That means that the government would own or control all factories, farms, and whatever else they deem to be necessary to control the “distribution of goods.”. Some bureaucrat will be tasked with determining what you do for a living and how much you are paid. They will have control over what products are available and how much they will cost.

Now here’s my question: Have you seen anything run by the government that indicates you would like them to take over your daily life? How about decide what career you choose? Maybe like China, the government should tell you how many kids to have. They have done such a bang up job with the VA and Medicare, why should we be concerned about putting them in charge of everybody’s health? In every area of life, ask yourself, “Who should decide how I live in this area?”

The next time you hear someone suggesting socialism would be a good idea, ask them what they mean by “socialism. “ Most of them don’t have a clue. They generally believe that it means everybody gets free stuff. In the unlikely event that they do understand what it means, ask them who gets to make these command decisions about the lives of the people. Chances are they think they will be part of the decision-making class. That means that the idiot you are talking to thinks he knows what is good for you, and believes you should be forced to comply with his assessment. That is socialism.
