The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the LORD with these words: “He is good! His faithful love endures forever!” At that moment a thick cloud filled the Temple of the LORD. The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the LORD filled the Temple of God.
2 Chronicles 5:13-14 NLT

The picture displayed here contains 2 shots of the same mountain. The only difference is the atmosphere. One picture is dark and a bit foreboding. The other is bright, charged with light promising a beautiful day full of good stuff. Same mountain, different atmosphere.
Have you ever walked into a house and had the instant realization that something was wrong? I mean, you could just feel the tension. You didn’t hear the fight, but you knew there had been a heated discussion going on. The conflict had colored the attitudes of the people involved. The negativity hung in the air. They could slap on a happy face, but you knew you had walked in on something. The strife had poisoned the atmosphere.
As we head to church today, be aware of how your presence and attitude impacts the atmosphere. You can choose to augment the spirit of faith and worship and joy, or you can suck the life out of the room with strife and disinterest and negativity. Same service, different atmosphere. You choose.
