And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:29-31 NLT

Sunday morning. The people of God are gathering to worship. We have a choice today. We can either go through the motions, do our nod to God and go to dinner, or we can reach a little deeper and try to touch the heart of God and let Him touch the hearts of people. How about we start the day with prayer for our services, our pastors, and our nation?
I love this prayer of the Jerusalem church in Acts 4. Confronted with a culture that rejected their message and threatened them with imprisonment, they didn’t pray for protection, they prayed for power. First the power to speak the Word of God with boldness. Then they went on to pray that God would do signs and wonders, healing the sick. They knew that a secular culture would need a jolt of power from Heaven. I’m praying that wherever you are today your pastor will be bold, miracles will be wrought, and you will be changed. How about you agree with me?
