Sunday Supernaturally: Shaken and Stirred

Today is Sunday. Most of us say we want to see the Gospel preached with power and miracles performed in the name of Jesus. If these things are not happening, there are things you can do to help.

Sunday Supernaturally: Do it Again, Lord!

What would happen if God moved like He did after Pentecost? I don’t know, but I want to find out. I want to be part of a movement where the Word is priority #1, where the people are passionate about each other, where prayer is always on the menu, and the sense of His Presence permeates the atmosphere. Lord, do it again!

Sunday Supernaturally: Let God be God

The Holy Spirit wants to show off, but He's a gentleman and won't interrupt our coffee klatch, amateur concert, and self-help pep talk unless we want Him to. His desire is to move us out into the world and enable us to speak words that they can hear.

Lead a Life of Prayer

Paul repeatedly talked about constant prayer, but we tend to ignore it, reserving our "prayer time" for a few moments in the morning or on the drive to work. It’s time to rethink the instructions to ”pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17), “be constant in prayer” (Romans 12:12), and “praying at all times in the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:18). Jesus is our example. We’re never alone, but we’re often out of touch. Lead a life of prayer.

Sunday Supernaturally: The Test of Rest

Take a moment to dedicate this beautiful Sunday to Him. Consciously remind yourself that you are His. Exercise your faith to take a break from the scramble of daily life. Take a deep breath, exhale slowly, and focus your mind and heart on communion with God and His holy people. Remember what He has done: His work is finished, and you get to rest in it. Let’s pass the test of rest.

Sunday Supernaturally: Baptized, Immersed, Overwhelmed, and Saturated

Jesus is alive. He wanted to be sure His disciples knew it. He hasn't changed. He is alive, He wants us to know it, and He will provide infallible evidence to prove it. Don't leave church without it!

Pastor Virgil Update 07/11/24

God loves “plodders.” I believe that. Most great things come after long periods of just staying in faith and staying steady. In fact, James said something along those lines. Perseverance has to complete its work. Let's hang in there!
