As we go to church today, let’s take a look at why we do what we do. Faith takes action based on the instruction of the Lord and expects the fulfillment of the attached promise. There's so much more to this life than empty ritual!

Lead a Life of Prayer
Paul repeatedly talked about constant prayer, but we tend to ignore it, reserving our "prayer time" for a few moments in the morning or on the drive to work. It’s time to rethink the instructions to ”pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17), “be constant in prayer” (Romans 12:12), and “praying at all times in the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:18). Jesus is our example. We’re never alone, but we’re often out of touch. Lead a life of prayer.

New Testament giving, including tithing, should be based on heart conviction. If, after a thorough search of the scripture, I am convinced it’s for me, then I can tithe and expect the blessings associated therewith. I encourage you to study the Word on the subject and obey God.
