Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.
(Psalms 34:3 NKJV)
How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.
(1 Corinthians 14:26 NKJV)
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.
(Ephesians 5:18-21 NKJV)

A pastor friend of mine was telling me that they have one Sunday morning service each month that is designated for the believers to take part. The Pastor doesn’t prepare a message. The worship leader has freedom to follow the Spirit of God as He leads. They wait on God and follow His leading, as people share what God has given them. The Pastor serves as the Interpreter, gently directing the flow.
I wonder what would happen if we all went to church today with the following list all ready to go:
- A testimony of something God has done for you this week. Psalm 34:3
- Something specific that you received from the Lord in your personal prayer time: “has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation, “ or anything else that might bring edification to the rest of the Body. 1 Corinthians 14:26
- A melody in your heart that you could share with the Body if asked. Ephesians 5:19
- An attitude of submission, putting the needs and comfort of others above your own. Ephesians 5:21
You have now come to Mount Zion and to the heavenly Jerusalem. This is the city of the living God, where thousands and thousands of angels have come to celebrate. Here you will find all of God’s dearest children, whose names are written in heaven. And you will find God himself, who judges everyone. Here also are the spirits of those good people who have been made perfect. And Jesus is here! He is the one who makes God’s new agreement with us, and his sprinkled blood says much better things than the blood of Abel.
(Hebrews 12:22-24 CEV)
