A Song of Ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore. My plan was to write about the spiritual songs in the New Testament. That changed this morning early when I heard the reports from Israel of the attack from Gaza. I have friends who are in Jerusalem on a tour, so I prayed for them and then for the peace of Israel. No matter your theology, Israel is a focal point of spiritual activity. Jesus is coming, but in the meantime, let’s pray.
Pray for the safety of the innocents on both sides of the battle. Grab hold of the promises of God’s protection for Israel and Jerusalem. Pray for our nation to stand on the side of righteousness. If you have a minute extra, pray for my friends, Pastor Mark and Christy Dunning of Blanchard, OK.
p.s. I know it’s Saturday, but the war didn’t wait for Sunday. Neither should we!
