Sunday Supernaturally, Special Edition: PRAY!

A Song of Ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore. For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, lest the righteous stretch out their hands to do wrong. Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts! But those who turn aside to their crooked ways the LORD will lead away with evildoers! Peace be upon Israel!

Psalm 125 ESV

My plan was to write about the spiritual songs in the New Testament. That changed this morning early when I heard the reports from Israel of the attack from Gaza. I have friends who are in Jerusalem on a tour, so I prayed for them and then for the peace of Israel. No matter your theology, Israel is a focal point of spiritual activity. Jesus is coming, but in the meantime, let’s pray.

Pray for the safety of the innocents on both sides of the battle. Grab hold of the promises of God’s protection for Israel and Jerusalem. Pray for our nation to stand on the side of righteousness. If you have a minute extra, pray for my friends, Pastor Mark and Christy Dunning of Blanchard, OK.

p.s. I know it’s Saturday, but the war didn’t wait for Sunday. Neither should we!
