Sunday Supernaturally: Hunger

My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the LORD, and you will gain knowledge of God.

Proverbs 2:1-5 NLT

There is a stirring in the world, and even in the Church.  We are experiencing a time of great change.  Population groups are in migration, threatening social order in many places.  Science is bringing technological marvels which make possible great good and horrible evil.  Our political institutions seem to be crumbling, threatened by godlessness on a scale unseen since the Bolshevik Revolution. Overt hatred for and persecution of Christians is at historical levels. What an opportunity!

In the midst of all that, the stirring that I see and feel is a deep hunger for something real, something stable.  That something is the Word of God.  Whether you believe it or not, there is a hunger growing for God and His Word.  Not religious tradition, but the sincere milk of the Word.  Let’s go to the gathering of the saints today with a passion to receive the Word, then let’s charge out into the world loaded with the knowledge of God. Have a great Sunday!
