Praise the LORD! I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, In the assembly of the upright and in the congregation. The works of the LORD are great, Studied by all who have pleasure in them.
(Psalms 111:1-2 NKJV)

It’s Sunday, time to go to church. Church is the English word for the Greek, “Ekklesia.” It means called out and set apart. God called you and me out of the world, and He set us apart as His own. The psalmist calls us “the assembly of the upright.” Christianity is a group activity. We are part of a congregation. It’s time to congregate.
When we congregate, we have 2 important jobs:
- Praise him with our whole heart. That means we give Him our undivided attention. Can you imagine the atmosphere if we all laid aside every care and concern and loved on Him with all our being. I make a motion that we try it today!
- Study His works, because they give us great pleasure. God has done really good stuff in my life this week. And I’m not special. Can you imagine how many great works He has done in the lives of the rest of the folks in the congregation? I want to hear about them, study how they happened, and rejoice with them that rejoice in the assembly of the upright. God is no respecter of persons. As the old song says, what He’s done for others, He’ll do for you.
OK. Let’s do this. Ready, set, CONGREGATE!!!!
