Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from Him, so He turned around in the crowd and asked, "Who touched My robe?" (Mark 5:30 NLT) Tonight I was in a Bible school class where the atmosphere was charged. The students were there with a hunger for the Word, and an expectation that … Continue reading Tapping into the Anointing.

Better Off with the Helper
Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. (John 16:7 NKJV) I'm thinking that the disciples were shocked at this statement. On the … Continue reading Better Off with the Helper
The Local Church
Don't you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16 NLT) The Spirit of God will manifest Himself in local churches hungry for, and open to, the move of the Spirit. The assault of Satan in our time is marked … Continue reading The Local Church
Rules and Hearts.
Rules are necessary to set boundaries for the flesh and guidance for unrenewed minds. Rules do not change hearts. Without a change of heart, I cannot help anyone. Only God can change a heart, and He will only perform heart surgery with the consent of the patient. Just a thought.
The Word and the Spirit, keep it real!
I had an interesting visit recently with a lovely lady of about 70 years. She has been a Christian for 60 of those years, all spent in one Pentecostal denomination. She made and appointment to see me, and came to my office with a notebook and a pen. She opened the conversation with a question: … Continue reading The Word and the Spirit, keep it real!
Keepin’ it Real
I was having a conversation yesterday with some of our ministry team. Our topic turned to the move of the Spirit and the way we allow Him to order our services. It reminded me of when we opened our doors in February of 2004. I was casting about for a slogan to put in a … Continue reading Keepin’ it Real
Grateful for the Message
I am having a gratitude attack this morning. The symptoms are a swollen heart and tears of joy when I think of how God has blessed me. In particular, I am grateful that He plopped me into this wonderful family of faith. I came to the Lord by myself reading a Billy Graham book in … Continue reading Grateful for the Message
Plan Time with God
While preparing to leave Panama this week, a couple of things struck me while negotiating the airport. As usual, after clearing security I headed for the men’s room. This is a recently remodeled facility. Millions of dollars were spent to provide a beautiful building with modern appurtenances. As I joined the march of men pulling … Continue reading Plan Time with God
Love Constrains
So I'm standing in line with Judy at the salad buffet, tray in hand, ready for lunch. Ahead of us is another couple perusing the cabbage. They look to be 40ish, attractive and well-groomed. Suddenly, the woman takes out her cell phone and appears to read a text message. We stand waiting. She puts down … Continue reading Love Constrains
Keepin’ it Simple
If you could advise a young pastor what would you tell him? At our recent leadership meeting, Rev. Van Crouch shared several things he believed to be vital. Citing the mission of the local church to make disciples who live victoriously and bear fruit, he proposed a list of things that should be on the … Continue reading Keepin’ it Simple
